David Read – Service Manager
David has been with Tune Tech Downtown since 2006. He has worked for 21 years as a shop manager and service advisor. He also has 9 years experience as a technician.
He is a 1988 graduate of Wyoming Tech’s automotive program. He has an Associates of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology. He is certified by ASE in seven of the eight areas of automotive repair.
David’s many years of experience give him the ability to serve his customers well. He enjoys the challenge of having what seems like an ongoing stream of new and varied problems to keep him on his toes and excited about his job. David’s confidence in the level of technical expertise held by the technicians is what assures him that pretty much any car with any problem can be repaired at Tune Tech Downtown.
He enjoys the face to face contact with customers and finds satisfaction in helping meet their needs. When asked, he says his main priorities are “to get the car fixed and to satisfy the customer”.
David appreciates the many outdoor activities available in Idaho and being able to share them with his wife and two sons. They like to camp and fish in various places around southern Idaho. Having come from a town just west of Denver, Colorado, he appreciates the small town atmosphere of Boise compared to that of a big city.
Troy Miller – Assistant Service Manager
Troy has been with Tune Tech Downtown since 2011. Troy has worked as a service advisor for 10 years and as a technician for 20 years.
He is a graduate of the Boise State University – Automotive Program.
Troy strives to provide friendly, reliable encounters for customers. He is focused on meeting customer needs as well as their expectations for a positive outcome regarding their auto repair or service.
He has lived in Boise Idaho since 1994. He has also lived in California and Alaska.
Troy enjoys Idaho’s friendly sense of community and being close to his family.
When not at work he spends time with his family, outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.
Dave Browning – Service Advisor ( Dave still helps out at times)
Dave has been with Tune Tech Downtown for 9 years. He came here after a 21 year stint at a dealership in the Seattle Washington area. Even after working 30 years as a service advisor, Dave is still excited about the job and the opportunity to serve his customers.
Expertise in Customer Relations and the ability to listen well to his customers are significant values Dave brings to his position at Tune Tech. He enjoys interacting with and solving customer’s auto repair problems.
While Dave’s goal is to insure his customer’s vehicle is fixed right and ready when promised, he is also committed to getting to know the customer on a personal level in the process. Laughing and joking with them helps reduce the stress of getting their car fixed or maintained and helps them feel like they are as important as their car. “Our customers are the most important thing. Without them, we don’t have anything,” Dave says.
Even though Tune Tech Downtown doesn’t do a lot of advertising in the traditional sense, they consistently have new customers. Dave knows the reason is the quality of service and the personalized care each customer experiences. This creates the kind of word-of-mouth advertising that keeps new customers coming in.
Dave has been in Idaho since 2002. He and his wife enjoy the mountains of Idaho and their close proximity to Boise. After years of hectic commuting in the Seattle area, he now enjoys a relaxing mountain drive to and from work.
He likes to fish and hike in the mountains around Idaho City. He also spends some of his free time working the streams on his 200 acre mine operation in those same mountains.
