Shocks and Struts

Like most car owners, you probably know your vehicle has shocks and struts to help maintain a smooth ride. You may not know that they serve another important safety function. In an extreme braking condition, tires have a tendency to bounce. To give a vehicle the shortest stopping distance when braking, the shocks and struts work to keep the tires on the ground.

After years of going over bumps, dips and potholes shocks can wear and no longer dampen or smooth out suspension movement, as they should. This results in increased up and down movement which causes more wear on ball joints, bushings and other suspension components. The additional movement will increase the frequency at which they must be replaced. The bounce effect from worn shocks and struts also shortens the life of your tires.

To avoid damage to suspension components and tires, let our ASE Certified technicians at Tune Tech Downtown perform your shock and strut replacement. With over 34 years of experience, you can be confident we will get you back on the road with your repair and service done right.
